On Thursday, May 26 at 6:30 the Princeton Public Library will hold the first class of a three phase project on an English Paper Piecing quilting project. Phase two and three will be held Thursday June 23 and Thursday July 28, also at 6:30. The participants will learn English Paper Piecing which is a hand quilting technique. The project, “Jefferson Star,” is a 27 inch x 34 inch wall hanging/table topper.
Preregistration is required and the cost for a kit is $39 plus tax. The kit includes the pattern, papers, and acrylic template, plus instructions for making a 45 x 66 inch version of the quilt. The class will be led by Lisa Furleigh from “Quilting in the Valley” quilt shop in LaSalle.
Participants should bring scissors, a good needle, fabric glue pen, fine weight cotton thread in a neutral color, and a rotary cutter. Also bring scraps of fabric that would be appropriate for the paper piecing part, and twelve 7 ½” x 7 ½” background squares. The library will have scraps of fabrics to sell if you don’t have enough and will also have the other supplies to purchase if needed.
