Elephant and Piggie Puppet Theater

Fans of the Elephant and Piggie children’s book series will love the library’s “Elephant and Piggie’s Puppet Workshop.”

This three-part event is planned for 2nd through 8th grade participants.

ADVANCED SIGNUP IS REQUIRED.

Monday, July 24 at 2:30:  Kids will be assigned parts and take time to build their puppets.

Wednesday, July 26 at 2:30: Finishing touches will be added to the puppets and scenery, and the first rehearsal will take place.

Friday, July 28 at 2:30: Final Rehearsal followed by the performance at 4:00 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to come and watch the show.

Franken-Toys program

Tuesday, July 25 at 2:30 p.m.: You might be reminded of how Sid from Toy Stories loved to reengineer his toys. Participants will chop, cut, glue, and sew old stuffed toys into wild and beautiful (or not so beautiful) creations. This event is sponsored by the Flour House Bakery.

Nature’s Architects program  with the Forest Park Nature Center

Thursday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m.: Kids will get to see and touch some amazing structures and objects created by wildlife, and even meet a fascinating live creature. Hands-on activities will include wild design and building a hawk’s nest. This event is sponsored by Norberg Funeral Home.

End-of-Program party

July 31 at 2:30 p.m. : Local musician Chris Nesbitt will perform and names will be drawn for the reading raffle prizes.  You do not need to attend to  win.
