John Purvis Returns August 24

John Purvis returns to the Princeton Public Library Thursday, August 24 at 6:30 p.m. to revisit the lost treasures of Illinois. Every town and village in Illinois has a story to tell. There are numerous memorials, statues, and abandoned buildings, each with their own tale. Many of these were erected with great fanfare and pomp. Crowds gathered, important officials made speeches, bands played, and people cheered at the unveiling.

At Thursday’s program, participants will rediscover these places: the Fruit Hill Country School Museum, the Abandoned Gilson High School, the Replica of the Statue of Liberty, the Recent Harvest Festival in Franklin Grove, and the Chaplin Creek Historic Village. The program is free to all.
