Movie on Abraham Lincoln Sept. 7

The Princeton Public Library and the Owen Lovejoy Homestead Board will co-sponsor a film screening Thursday, September 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Matson Meeting Room at the library.  The film is about Abraham Lincoln, was produced in 1940, and is 110 minutes long.   Heartland Bank will be providing popcorn free of charge to attendees.

The movie is a biography that begins with Lincoln’s early years in Kentucky and goes through his election as President, though the majority of the story deals with his life in Illinois.  It follows his life as a farmer, running a general store, becoming a postmaster, eventually being elected to the State legislature, and his practice as a lawyer before being elected President of the United States.  It shows his private life, the struggles he went through, the women he dated, and his marriage
