Princeton Public Library is now offering card-holding patrons the opportunity to explore different professional and recreational interests. The library has subscribed to Lynda.com to offer over 5,723 courses in Business, Technology and Creative Skills taught by industry experts.
Cardholders can view the videos from Lynda.com and enter their card number and password (the last four digits of their card number). The license permits up to five users to access the videos at a time and allows for remote access.
Acquisition of this program comes as a direct result of the feedback received by area employers at the Princeton Economic Development Summit held in February of this year. Many employers stated they had trouble finding candidates with suitable skills. Princeton Public Library is responding by connecting patrons to an education in Software Development, Web Development, Business, Information Technology, Design, and Marketing, among others.
A number of successful companies, government agencies and universities have offered Lynda.com for years. The library hopes that the Princeton community will take advantage of this opportunity learn and grow.
