cafe-ecoThe Princeton Library Café is in the process of making changes designed to be more environmentally friendly. “We want to minimize our impact on the environment,” Café employee Adina Stackhouse said. “We’d appreciate any feedback people can offer about how we’re doing.”

The Café has already switched to compostable cups and lids, and plans to eventually switch out other supply items as well.  They recently created a small scale display that illustrates how their cups can be turned into composting material.  If you give the glass jar a gentle shake, you can see what’s inside breaking down.

Composting is beneficial to our environment because it breaks down food waste and other natural products faster than it would in a landfill. The Café staff encourages you to learn about how to create a composting bin of your own and join them in the fight to keep our planet healthy.

The lobby of the Princeton Public Library became an Internet cafe/coffee bar on Saturday, July 31, 2010. Originally named Latté Da!, the cafe is now The

Library Cafe at Princeton Public Library, and it’s a great place to relax with a good book selection, study, play a quiet game, or have a conversation with friends.

Buy 10 drinks, get 1 free!     Get two punches for one on Friday 2-4 & Sat 11-1

On the menu are our signature coffees, espresso specialty drinks, teas and our ice blended Coffee Chillers.  The Library Cafe also treats its customers to seasonal beverages which include icy lemon smoothies, springtime cupcake drinks, and various holiday options.

Other tasty treats include delicious fresh-baked cookies and sweets. Our coffee is roasted locally in Peoria Heights in a small batch vintage roaster that coaxes out each variety’s own unique taste profile. Our main blends are composed of Kenyan, Sumatran and Central American ingredients.

The end result is coffees that have a rich smooth flavor and are fantastic own their own or as part of one of our amazing signature espresso drinks. Fans of The Library Cafe @ PPL can socialize in the library or online with Facebook.
