Friends Book Sale



The next Friends of the Princeton Public Library book sale will be Thursday, November 11th-Friday, November 13th. The hours are 10-6, 10-5, and 10-2. Saturday is $5.00 per bag of books for books priced $1.00 or less. Books with yellow sticker prices will be half-price on Saturday, as will DVDs, music CDs, audiobooks, and puzzles.

About 9,000 books have been donated and sorted into 30 categories. Some categories are children’s and young adult, newer fiction and non-fiction, sports, history, biography, gardening, poetry, classics, mysteries, $.50 hardcover fiction, Presidents, higher priced non-fiction, and how-to books (such as quilting, decorating, woodworking, remodeling), cookbooks, and Christmas books.

Following CDC guidelines and current Princeton Public Library policy, masks must be worn upon entering the facility and during shopping. Hand sanitizer will also be made available.

Book Donations are being accepted!

Small amounts of books may be left in the Friends donation bin in the Café Lobby. If you have several boxes, please call Jill Van Acker, 815-876-6062, to arrange a time when a Friends volunteer can meet you when you drop off your donation.

Items that are NOT accepted for
the Friends of the Library Sales

No magazines
No Reader’s Digest Condensed Books
No encyclopedias (World Book, Compton’s, Childcraft)
No special interest book sets (e.g., Time-Life history, handyman, how-to, or health sets)
No textbooks (at any school level, Jr. High, High School, or College, including nursing)
No discarded books from other libraries
Books that are damp, musty or moldy, or without covers are considered unacceptable. Old (vintage) books must be in at least Fair condition.
No VHS movies
No audio cassettes
