Tuesday, June 4, 7 pm Illinois Libraries Present The Hidden Gifts of Visual Thinkers with Dr. Temple Grandin (Zoom Presentation) Join us for a special event with Dr. Grandin, one of the world’s most accomplished and well-known adults with autism. Dr. Grandin has been at the forefront of research and activism for autism and neurodiversity for decades. Her most recent book is Visual Thinking: The Hidden Gifts of People Who Think in Pictures, Patterns, and Abstractions. Thursday, June 6, 5:30 pm PPL Gardening Group All levels of gardener are welcome. This month, we’ll be hosting special guest Ellen Starr, retired biologist and pollinator habitat advocate, formerly of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Services. Ellen is in charger of the beautiful pollinator garden just east of the library, and also manages many gardens locally.

Tuesday, June 18, 12:30 pm Incredible Bats (Summer Reading)—Animals from Around the World Sharon and Dan Peterson have been promoting bat education in the Midwest since 1996. Their goal as bat educators is to inform people about the many benefits of bats. But they enjoy all different kinds of animals, not just bats, and their presentation will include animals from across the globe.
